Burpham

Burpham is a small village on the east bank of the original course of the river. The Arun here has become a loop, almost cut off from the main river, due to two bridges carrying the railway line from Arundel to Pulborough. Burpham has always been a popular destination for leisure boating from Arundel, or beyond, and this is reflected in the large selection of river view postcards. The village centre around the church and pub is also well represented. Artists and authors seem to have chosen to live here, including Edward Tickner-Edwardes.
